we are a
impacting and uplifting deserving communities.
Toast for Charity is a youth empowerment, Dallas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the next generation of leaders and difference-makers. We believe every child deserves an equal chance at success, and we are committed to providing that opportunity.
We understand that kids of color in our community often face obstacles, whether it is financial hardship or a lack of access to resources. Our mission is to provide support in all areas—from education to recreation—so kids of color can achieve their full potential.
We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization created by concerned millennials compelled to be the change within our communities. Our vision is to illuminate the path to lifelong success for kids of color in southern Dallas. We are taking big and small steps to eradicate injustice, and we are proud to be part of this movement!
A MESSAGE FROM OUR Executive Director & President:
WHY YOU M.A.D.
(Make A Difference)
A lot has happened over the last year, and we are immensely grateful for the difference-makers who continue to stand with us by supporting our mission and vision. We are positioned for great things in the years ahead as a result of your unyielding support.
As our community still rebounds from a once-in-a-lifetime crisis, COVID-19, Toast for Charity has refocused our sights on illuminating the pathways for lifelong success for kids of color in the DFW area. We launched Ready, Set, READ to spark a love for reading and to address the literacy crisis in southern Dallas. We know literacy is fundamental to reducing poverty, increasing educational outcomes and access, and ultimately improving life outcomes.
Many college-bound students across the DFW area have financial concerns about attending college. In response, we launched the M.A.D. Pitch Competition to provide scholarship opportunities for high school juniors and seniors to make college a possibility. This program amplifies student voices in creating solutions for real community issues.
Like many other minority-led, small nonprofits in North Texas, TFC lost financial support post-pandemic., We created opportunities to partner with other nonprofits, collaborating to weather the storm. Thanks to the record-setting generosity of our difference makers and unwavering resolve to make a difference during challenging moments together, in 2023 (?) we hit our revenue target raising a record-breaking $94,000. As a result, we had a direct impact on multiple small businesses, multiple minority-led small nonprofits, entrepreneurs, child-care facilities, and 50+ kids of color from ages 0-18 years old.
The strength of our collective impact would not be possible without you. Together we “partied with a purpose” to make a difference for the next generation of difference-makers. We will continue to seek transformational change for our community to provide more equity for kids of color. We’re fortunate enough to have board chairs that have a deep commitment to making all things possible.
