Fred Burns, a Mississippi native, is a seasoned professional and entrepreneur with a rich career in the technology sector. Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Jackson State University in 2014, Fred has cultivated a diverse and impactful career in software development and leadership.
Fred's professional journey began at American Airlines, where he made significant contributions to the company's software solutions. His work was recognized with first-place awards at company-wide innovation events in both 2017 and 2018, leading to substantial cost savings and increased efficiency for the airline.
Fred later honed his skills at JP Morgan Chase and Verizon Wireless, where he played key roles in developing and enhancing mobile applications that millions of customers use.
In 2020, Fred embarked on a new journey as an entrepreneur, founding Safer Management, Inc. Under his leadership, the company developed SchoolDay.AI, a mobile and web application that is now used by over 50,000 students and teachers across the United States.
Beyond his professional achievements, Fred is committed to giving back to the community. He serves on the national board of Youth Villages, a non-profit organization that supports at-risk youth. His commitment to service has earned him numerous awards, including recognition from his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi.
Fred is a proud alumnus of prestigious entrepreneurial programs, including Y Combinator and the Apple Black Entrepreneur Program. His efforts were further recognized when he received the Google for Black Founders Award. When he's not leading his company or contributing to his community, Fred enjoys attending sporting events and spending quality time with his twin boys. His commitment to creating a safer environment for children was a major driving force behind the creation of Safer Management.
