Laura K. Wise

Chief Marketing Officer

Laura K. Wise is the founder and lead consultant for Content Wise Communications (CWC), a boutique communications agency that works with companies, nonprofits, brands, and entrepreneurs to build brand stories and assets around social impact initiatives—for a digital world.

Her work spans the globe, living and working in the southern Philippines for two years. There, she developed international communications campaigns with InPeace Mindanao, a network of grassroots NGOs on issues including the rights of indigenous people, violence against women, and human rights. Her career is rooted in fighting for equity.

Laura’s work is narrowly focused on CSR, DEI, and ESG from both the nonprofit and corporate perspectives. She’s worked with brands including MUFG (formerly the Bank of Tokyo), Catalent, The Bank of the West, Planned Parenthood, The New York Women’s Foundation, and Denny’s.

Freelancing

Additionally, Laura has been a freelance writer for the last 12 years, with dozens of stories published on CSR, DEI, ESG, women’s rights, entrepreneurship, tech—and the intersections of these topics.

She is the founder of The Black Female Freelance Network (The BFF Network), a growing community of Black women freelancers sharing tips, tools, resources, and stories—but most importantly, creating a hiring pipeline.
