Dr. George Lewis

Dr. George Lewis is a 2008 graduate of Evolution Academy Charter School. He first arrived at Evolution at the age of 16 when he was in search of an opportunity that would free him from the confines of a traditional high school curriculum and allow him to provide for himself and his family. While attending Evolution, he excelled as a dual credit student, taking college courses at Richland Community College. Upon graduation, he decided to further his education at Texas Southern University.
While at Texas Southern University, Dr. Lewis would excel academically, receiving a full-ride scholarship as a Louis Stokes Association for Minority Participation (L-SAMP) Scholar after his first year. While attending Texas Southern University, Dr. Lewis continued to excel academically, receiving awards from NASA as a Center of Bio-Nanotechnology and Research (NASA C-BER) Scholar and The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program for his oncology research focused on breast cancer. He would also represent Texas Southern University in several leadership roles. Before Graduating from Texas Southern University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, he would conclude his undergraduate career as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
After undergrad, Dr. Lewis attended the number 2 pharmacy school in the country, the University of Illinois at Chicago, to pursue his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. While at UIC, he would continue to excel as Vice President of his class and complete 3 more research projects, leading to a publication in the Journal of American Pharmacist Association. He will complete his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May of 2019. Dr. Lewis looks to continue to pursue his passion of helping disadvantaged youth, entrepreneurship, and becoming an author in the Spring of 2023 with his first book entitled “A Degree is Not Enough: How to Get the most out of a College Education.” He currently serves our Veterans at the VA Hospital of North Texas as a Clinical Pharmacist.
